The Cokin Orange filter splits the difference between Red and Yellow making it one of the most versatile and popular of the B&W filters.
Portrait photographers use it often because it reduces the appearance of freckles and blemishes. It gives the skin a smooth and healthy look.
Architectural and cityscape photographers love how it enhances bricks and other building materials. It increases contrast and adds more texture and depth. Buildings just pop a lot more when you use it.
Similar to red filters, they can be used to reduce the appearance of fog and haze, and darken skies and emphasize clouds. It strikes a nice balance between the red and yellow filters and can be left on all the time while photographing outdoors.
